Class Descriptions

TrimmingThrowing for Beginners: This class is for students who have little to no experience on a potter's wheel. The class teaches the foundations of wheel throwing. Students will first learn the principles of clay and how to center clay on a wheel and then will move at their own pace to making finished pieces.

Intermediate Throwing: This class is for students who can successfully make a cylinder on the wheel. More advanced techniques will be explored and students will expand on their clay working abilities. Students will have a chance to learn complex forms with multiple steps.

Surface Design: In this class, we will explore ways in which to vary the look of finish pieces. Textures, handle/strap making, sprig molds, stamp making and application, texture rollers/roulettes and carving techniques are just some of the topics we will explore in this class. **This class is limited to intermediate level throwing and/or hand-building and up students only**

Clay Therapy Night: ThiFootedMugss class is a relaxed class where students will have the chance to socialize and create.

Date Night: This is a single session class designed for you and a friend (or more?) to try your hand at working in clay. You will create and decorate a slab constructed piece together. The finished piece will be glazed by staff and you will have several glaze color options to choose from. Finished pieces will be ready for use in 2-4 weeks.
