A bonsai pot for refinement and display
Choosing a new pot is an important step when a bonsai tree begins moving beyond early development and toward a more intentional composition. This one-of-a-kind handmade bonsai pot offers a warm, balanced setting for deciduous, flowering, and fruiting trees while providing the practical features needed for repotting and continued bonsai tree care.
The satin earthy yellow glaze adds color without overpowering the tree. It pairs beautifully with delicate foliage, spring flowers, colorful fruit, and seasonal fall color, making this ceramic bonsai pot a thoughtful choice for a tree entering transition, refinement, or display.
Designed for repotting and secure placement
This round bonsai pot measures approximately 8 inches wide by 2⅞ inches high. Its low, balanced shape provides useful room for the root system while maintaining a display-worthy profile.
Two drainage holes help excess water move through the pot after watering. Eight integrated tie-down holes provide multiple options for securing the tree during repotting, root work, and initial establishment.
Four raised feet create space beneath the pot for drainage and airflow. Each pointed foot is individually cut, shaped, and embellished by hand. Their dramatic curves add movement and character to the rounded form while helping the pot remain visually stable.
This pot is especially well suited for:
- Deciduous bonsai trees
- Flowering bonsai trees
- Fruiting bonsai trees
- Japanese maple bonsai
- Softly styled trees
- Trees transitioning from development into refinement
- Bonsai being prepared for seasonal or long-term display
Always choose a bonsai pot according to the size, health, root system, and growing needs of the individual tree.
One-of-a-kind handmade bonsai pottery
This artisan bonsai pot is individually handmade from brown stoneware clay in my Melbourne, Florida studio. The exterior is finished with a satin yellow glaze, while the interior remains unglazed.
The sculptural feet are cut, shaped, and detailed individually by hand. Small variations in the glaze, rim, surface, shape, and decorative details are natural parts of the handmade process and make this ceramic bonsai pot completely one of a kind.
Unlike a mass-produced bonsai container, this pot was created as an individual piece for a grower seeking reliable function, distinctive color, and a more intentional presentation for their tree.
